About Nonstop from JFK

Hi there!

I’m Kate. I first started a travel blog as a way to keep my family and friends in the loop when I had to go Puerto Rico for work for 3 months. I enjoyed posting about my adventures so much that when I was sent to Singapore for work for a month I decided to keep posting at SeeKateTravelTheWorld.blogspot.com (don’t go there, you will just be re-directed to nonstopfromJFK.com).

Since then I’ve documented all my travels. Sadly, work doesn’t want to send me anywhere lately so there are no more business class flights or fancy paid-for meals. But I still try to make the most of my vacation days and go on 2-3 big trips per year, and try to get away for a weekend here and there. Traveling is definitely an addiction!

Documenting my travels has helped me remember the details about my travels, such as which museums and castles I visited, and all the little moments that can be easily forgotten because of every day life. I also love being able to share my traveling tips and experiences, because even though it might be fun to travel totally unprepared and embrace the adventure, sometimes it is good to know what to expect when you go somewhere new.

In the next few months I will be re-formatting and re-posting all my blog posts from SeeKateTravelTheWorld, since the wordpress site has so much more capabilities and options. Check back often to see the new pictures and posts, get inspired for your next adventure, and leave a comment or two to let me know where you plan on traveling next!

I look forward to making new internet friends through this blog.

Please share this blog and follow me on social media (I have icons on buttons EVERYWHERE, you can’t miss them :))

Happy travels!

    Hey Kate!

Nice blog you have here! I reside in Minneapolis now, but I’m from the East New York section of Brooklyn. So it was really nice reading your post about the NYC bus tours. Man, those pictures bring back soooo many memories of my days growing up there. And they also helped me realize how much I never really saw (tourist attractions) when I lived there.

I left back in ’92 and haven’t been back since. But, speaking of grandmothers (from your NYC bus tour post), I plan to return to the Big Apple in January for my gramma’s surprise 80th birthday party. And I’m starting my travel blog around the same time. So it’ll be really nice to go back home and reunite with fam that I haven’t seen in years. And what better inaugural posts to have on my blog than those of my hometown – New York City!

Looking forward to seeing more great stuff on here :-).

      Hi Jay,

Thank you for your comment. I only got to NYC in ’93, so I am sure things have changed SO MUCH since you left in ’92. That’s great that your family is having a reunion and you get to go back and visit, and celebrate such a joyous occasion with your grandma! I hope you have a chance to see some of NYC when you are here.

I agree, there is no better way to start a travel blog than with posts about NY!

Thanks for stopping by, and let me know when your travel blog is up and running.
